Democracy is not a spectator sport; it can happen only with all of us standing united. The wedge that has driven us apart all this time is communalism. Communalism today has become a political tool to help parties buy votes. Parties are seen dividing people into communal vote banks and further fueling the raging violence that needlessly prevail in our society. There is a deep void of empty promises left behind by politicians so far. But we have never seen even a ripple of change happening. I intend to fill this void with answers that will satisfy each and every one of you. As an individual candidate, I don’t have to stoop down to high commands. The only jury I have to answer to is all of you.

Reports of communal riots have become incidents that every Indian has been forced to familiarize themselves with. But I was shocked into a rude awakening when the news of the violence in Kanadhamala in Orissa was broadcasted. I followed the bloodshed that gripped the nation with mounting rage. Kerala, Punjab and finally Karnataka, the flame was seen spreading furiously. Families torn apart, children lost in the chaos, innocent blood spilt everywhere; the scene was as ghastly and as it was frightening. This was one of the defining moments in my decision to stand as a People’s Representative and do something about the issue instead of fanning the fire further as political parties so.
